Generation 3 - Chapter 6

The once vivacious Tina had become a compete introvert. She took the maximum amount of maternity leave. Never left the house, never had anyone over. She threw herself into taking care of June and her art. Her half sisters tried to keep in touch but soon gave up. Her elderly Aunt Joan pestered her and pestered her but that didn't work either. Her cousins came by endlessly but once they started having families of their own, they stopped trying as well. That was just fine with Tina.

It would be just the two of them. She kept the outside world at arms length. Too much had happened to her at once and she never wanted to go through that again and she wanted to shelter her little June from the pain of the real world as much as she could. When her birthday came around she made a cake just for the two of them. She couldn't remember the last time she had even bothered to get dressed.

Toddler June!

"Don't worry sweety. I've got this all under control"

While waiting for her mail delivery paints to arrive, Tina tried her hand at sculpting and inventing but decided neither were for her.

Before too long she HAD to go back to work. Other wise she would lose her job and her house. She hated the house. She hated the neighborhood. She hated the town they lived in. Not enough to do anything about it though. Except with her daughter and her easel, Tina was the picture of apathy.

She stopped progressing at work and barely did enough not to get fired. Things when on this way for a few years. Thankfully June was now old enough to take care of herself (mostly) and it forced Tina to shift her focus.

Without June to fuss over, Tina started going outside again, Started answering her phone again

June is good (dad), clumsy(mom), and eccentric (random). Tina was thankful she had kept the workbench. June LOVED it and spent all her free time collecting scrap and tinkering.

June had no desire to make friends, go to the park, or even hang out with mom. She was extremely independent and did not care at all what other people were doing around her or what they though of her. Or her unique tastes.

Tina refocused on her job and her art. With June off in her own world, Tina was producing multiple paintings a day.

  1. Sounds to me like Tina got hit hard by depression :/ Poor girl, hope she gets better soon and can get out of her apathy.

    1. …Unfortunately I have found it to be tough writing for a character that's completed all their goals >_<
