Elgon was getting up in years (even though I think he still looks totally awesome) and the young couple settling into life together. Jonas thought it might be time to move out and get a place of their own. Though they weren't ready for their own children yet he aspired to have a private preschool in his home and an apartment wasn't the place for that.
After talking it over with his wife they agreed that it was time
"So dad... Candace and I have decided we need a home of our own. We are so grateful to you for letting us stay with you. I hope you understand?"
"I knew this was coming. You guys are young. You don't need to be sharing your space with an old guy like me. But there is one thing I have to insist on. Well, two actually"
"Just name it!"
"One, let me keep the dog, and two left me pay the down payment on your house"
At first they tried to argue with Elgon about the money, but in the end they accepted. They already knew the dog would stay. Elgon was his person!
Candace and Jonas were relieved and excited and started house hunting immediately. What they didn't tell Elgon was the encounter Jonas had had with Emmaline. Getting a safe distance from Elgon had factored into their decision to move.
It only took 1 week to find a house they loved and Jonas called the movers right away
It didn't take long to pack up all their things. The house had been renovated by Wind and fully furnished. Elgon was sad and excited about the whole thing and waved them out the door. He had plans of his own after all.
The house was small but had a decent yard. Only one bedroom but with space to expand. It was perfect!
The couple wasted no time breaking it in!

The house was extra cool because the previous owners had had it remodeled by Wind! So everything was already upgraded and it lots of little details premade houses usually lack.
